1 day ago Braves News: Bryce Elder to Start Against Marlins, Ozzie Albies and Sean Murphy progressing, more
Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports The Braves welcome the Marlins after a near sweep of the state of Texas last week. Unfortunately, Sunday was not so sweet for the Braves. After winning their first five games of the week against the two teams in last year’s ALCS, it was the Rangers who showed their power in a 6-4 victory over the Braves. Travis D’Arnaud got a day of rest after his historic first few games of the weekend. And though Marcell Ozuna went deep once again, the Braves were not able to pull off the comeback this time. However, it is hard to complain about the week the Braves had and the start to their season overall. Not only are the Braves 14-6 and once again producing the best offense in the bigs, but they have also had quite a bit of success against some worthy opponents. Atlanta has now played each of the participants in last year’s NLCS and ALCS, and the Braves are 10-2 in those games. The fact that this has occurred even with the injuries the Braves have experienced makes it even more impressive. With the full week ahead at home, hopefully the good play for the Braves will continue. Braves News Both Ozzie Ablies and Sean Murphy continue to progress in their rehab. Albies will begin fielding activities while Murphy continues to increase his throwing efforts: Both Sean Murphy (oblique) and Ozzie Albies (fractured big toe) have increased their activities in the past couple of days. Murphy is doing more throwing, still not swinging. Albies was given OK to increase activities, doing some fielding work but not running.— David O'Brien (@DOBrienATL) April 21, 2024 Bryce Elder will be called up to the majors to start for the Braves on Monday. Meanwhile, it appears Darius Vines will be optioned to the minors. Elder could be followed by Max Fried on Tuesday and Reynaldo López on Wednesday. A new Ronald Acuna Jr. bobblehead will be part of the excitement in the series against the Marlins. Spencer Schwellenbach showed plenty of swing and miss stuff over the weekend for Rome MLB News After a 5-1 week, the Braves are back at the top of the MLB.com power rankings. Even with the Braves excellent play as of late, the Phillies have kept the pace as they finished their home stand with an 8-2 record after another win on Sunday. They actually have now won sixth straight. The Marlins got a bit of momentum with a 6-3 win over the Cubs on Sunday before they head to Atlanta. The Mets placed reliever Brooks Raley on the 15-day IL. Brewers pitcher D.L. Hall was placed on the 15-day IL with a knee injury. Red Sox slugger Triston Casas was placed on the 10-day IL with a rib injury. Christian Javier of the Astros was also moved to the 15-day IL. Spencer Arrighetti will get additional starts in Javier’s rotation spot. Former Atlanta infielder Vaughn Grissom continues to work his way closer to making his debut for the Red Sox.

1 day ago Bryce Elder to start Monday against Marlins
Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports Elder will make his season debut on Monday. Though it was a bit of a mystery for much of Sunday, the Braves decided after Sunday’s game that Bryce Elder will make his season debut and get the start against the Marlins on Monday. As initially expected, Elder will come up tomorrow to start.— Mark Bowman (@mlbbowman) April 22, 2024 Atlanta likely expected it would need to use its minor league starting pitching depth at some point this season. However, it may not have expected it to be such frequent use this early, as Elder will become the eighth different pitcher to start a game for the Braves through their first 21 contests of the season. Fortunately, this decision seems to be focused on providing an extra day of rest for the staff as a whole instead of an injury. Of course, Elder’s season debut likely comes with a bit more intrigue than most. It has been quite a year for Elder, as this time one year ago, he was in the beginning stages of an All-Star campaign in the first half of 2023 due to a 2.97 ERA. However, since then, Elder has had more struggles than successes. He produced a 5.11 ERA in the second half of last season, struggled in his lone playoff appearance, and lost in the race for the fifth starter’s spot during this Spring due to a 8.25 ERA. However, despite plenty of struggles, the opportunity to succeed is certainly there for Elder. He has faced the Marlins more than any team so far in his young career, and has looked good against them at times. Plus, with the Braves lineup facing lefty Ryan Weathers, Elder should have some good support. While a dominant start would certainly be welcome, if Elder can simply have the Braves in a position to win after five or six innings, he will have done his job. As mentioned above, the reason for bringing Elder up for his season debut seems to be focused on giving the rest of the Braves’ starters an extra day or two of rest. If Elder can produce a good start, it will be interesting to see how he is utilized moving forward. While the Braves have plenty of depth in the minors, if one or two of those arms can maintain some level of success, they could see extended time in the rotation. So for Bryce Elder, Monday’s start is certainly an opportunity to shine.

One12 Courtland

1 Rating

I've been dealing with so many issues at One12 Courtland that have made my living situation a nightmare. Where do I even begin? First, my roommate has been vandalizing my personal belongings and verbally threatening me. This has created an extremely unsafe and uncomfortable environment to live in. The parking garage door was also left broken for weeks, leaving the area insecure. I was very concerned about the safety of myself and my property. There is also only 1 hour guest parking, so if you ever want to have a guest over longer than an hour, then you have to park across the street and pay. Then, my car parked IN the garage had its wiring harness chewed up by rats. The complex needs to address this rodent problem to protect residents' vehicles. This is most likely due to the uncleanliness of this place due to the constant sticky floors and the reeky smell of trash and weed. You can see in the images attached the GRIME on the stairs (it was recently power washed due to some recent reviews to cover their tracks). There was also a 3-day water outage due to a burst pipe, and the complex only provided 2 water bottles per resident per day. I had to go elsewhere just to shower a
