Description
SATO is a modern Japanese restaurant with traditional roots, located in the heart of Buffalo's Elmwood Village. At our upscale yet casual restaurant, you can enjoy food that is fresh, healthy, and sophisticated, with authentic Japanese flavors blending with local and seasonal ingredients.
The owner's, Dr. Joshua M. Smith and Head Chef Satomi Sakai Smith, came up with the name for their second restaurant "SATO" from Satomi's nickname and also in Japanese it has the meaning of "village", fitting for the new location.
Our diverse menu changes seasonally, and our specials rotate with the availability of fresh and local ingredients. Chef Satomi's thick pork based tonkotsu ramen noodles are a tweaked recipe from her family's restaurant in Fukui. We use premium rice for our sushi, prepared in the traditional way using only the best quality fish.
