Description

Living in the incredible Parkisde, with it's wonderful neighbors and camaraderie for 22 years, we decided to put an end to an eyesore. One would think that at our age, a project of this magnitude is insane! It is. We're doing it anyway. Originally a candy and cigar store, then an A&P Market, this structure became the home of the "Park Meadow Bar & Restaurant" I believe in the 50's. Throughout the 70's and 80's it evolved into what Parksider's considered a "public nuisance . The doors were finally closed in 1991. Since then, it's been a series of failed restaurants. With nary a cent spent on maintenance in the last 30 years, the building infrastructure was in a very poor state. The entire first year was dedicated to correcting this. The new Parkside Meadow will reflect a deco style, reflective of the very cool transom windows found under plywood hidden for 60 years. The décor will be completely early Buffalo from the late 1800's to the 1950's. Because this project is being done personally, it is taking considerably longer than what one usually sees in a venture such as this with crews of contractors. Therefore, the projected opening will be, "when it's ready" and that ready became Sept 11th, 2015!
